Takoma Veg Week offers an opportunity for city residents to explore the many wonderful vegetarian options available in our city as a simple yet effect way for each of us to help protect the planet and animals—one meal at a time. The week-long celebration includes a kick-off party and veg specials at many local businesses:

The first-ever Takoma Park Veg Week got underway with a kick-off party on Fri., April 24 with more than 80 people in attendance. Special guests Sen. Jamie Raskin, Del. Tom Hucker, and Takoma Park Council Member Dan Robinson all signed our Pledge to Go Veg for One Week!

At the party, Sen. Raskin shared his ethical and health concerns that prompted his decision to go veg for a week. See photos from the event, and check out Sen. Raskin’s daily veg blog!
