You can start BBQ season off delicious and cruelty-free – without even firing up your grill! Smoke & Barrel’s menu boasts savory meat-free versions of classic barbecue, like the Vegan Spare Ribs, Vegan Chicken or Fish Cutlet Sandwich and more. Need a side? The coleslaw, along with other options, is vegan! Start the table off with fried pickles or the famous Smoked Vegan Wings (note: the BBQ sauce is vegan, but buffalo bleu and chipotle honey butter are not). To cool down with dessert, try the dairy-free vanilla ice cream.

Smoke & Barrel, located on 18th St NW in Adams Morgan, gets packed, but you can reserve a table (except on Tues, Fri and Sat evenings). Dinner is served 5pm-11pm Sun-Thurs and 5pm-midnight on Fri and Sat, and brunch (with lots of vegan options too) on Sat and Sun 11am-3pm.
